There was a case a couple years ago that really pissed me off. My friend's friend was out of town when a burglar was trying to break into her house. But while doing so, he fell through the roof and broke his ankle. Then, he had the nerve to file a lawsuit against her. But that's not even the craziest part, the craziest part was that the burglar won! He got several thousand for medical bills and pain and suffering. Now, how the fuck does something like that happen!? This is supposed to be America where we supposidly have the best lawyers and judical system. But I don't know anymore.

That's crazy. Did he lie and say he was the roof repairman? I don't know much about the law.. But he was trespassing, so no matter who he said he was he should've been busted for that.. Trespassing AND property damage ("crashed through our roof!").

lol its like A spy trying to creep onto one of our military bases here and getting his leg blown off by a misplaced land mine, and then sueing for that.. Then again, it'd be a military base so the case would belong to the big guys most likely..

oh well.. I hope you were playin'... lol

Hey Ben,

Funny thing about that is that this is not how the precedent works. Your friend should have won the suit simply by claiming the haphazardous situation that the (obvious) criminal actor placed himself in as well as by demonstrating that his intent was illigal and an attempt at a direct injury to the defendant.

Please let me see the case number of your friends trial and maybe I can get a better look at what happened. Heh. Whatever did happen was not supposed to happen; so long as your telling the whole story.

Ben

Well you should make it your perragotive to ensure that this case is look at again. Stating the facts that she was the victim in this case, however make you case a hardknock one in which you prove that the victim was in a case to be victimize and that if she was not there she would have been; so why does she have to pay the expenses of a criminal offender. He should be jail right now for even making the attempt to commit a crime. She should not have to pay for it. Consult a different lawyer and do some research and look up on what they have about the protection of citizens and their right s etc.

As election day approaches, I, just like the rest of you, are probably wondering who's going to be the next president. The DNC brought together all nationalites, races and both genders for a powerful "meeting of the democratic minds". However, my thinking is, actually, my concern rather, is how many blacks, are, as a result of the hair-raising speeches made by Clinton and Obama, will register to vote and will actually vote come this November?
The African American community needs to wake up. According to our mayor, Mr. Kilpatrick, there is a lot to be done before November and we need to merge our efforts with an organization that will actually heed to our cause and give us a place in the American government.
I hope that we all let the question "Who shall lead?" be ever present on our minds, as we view the right to vote (15th Amendment) as a duty and not a second class privilege.
